Far overdue that I write this. Hayashi is my wife and I’s home away from home. The fish is by far the freshest compared to others in the area (Mizu and Asuka), and the staff make you feel that you’re always welcome and cared for. We’re so happy to have this “sushi hub” available, and if you live in the Wake Forest/Wakefield area and haven’t been, it’s time, and the time is now!

Fantastic little Japanese gem, phenomenal food, service, and atmosphere. I most often get their sushi, which in my opinion is the best around, (my personal favorite is the Las Vegas Roll), but they offer a wide variety of other options that I've tried, each delivered to your table by a friendly face, and each of which is very high quality and utterly delicious. The restaurant is clean and well maintained, and the food is surprisingly inexpensive for the level of quality and ingredients. Very highly recommend, have gone many times and will go many more.

The food was very good! Flavorful! I had the veggie hibachi. There was a small wait for ordering because there was only one server. She made sure each table had drinks immediately, which was a plus! It wasn't loud at all although they were busy. I will definitely go back!

5 stars for everything, of course! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Friendly staff and owners — it feels like family every time we go there. Hayashi Japanese Restaurant offers fresh, exotic Japanese fish. Their sashimi is beautifully served on ice, and they also have sushi boats. There are lots of bento box options to choose from as well. They have a big food menu and a great selection of sake menu to choose from — our favorite is Azure cold sake. Their udon is a must-try! 🍣🍶

Beyond expectations is what I would use to describe this amazing restaurant. The food has been consistently good from the sushi, noodles and even the bentos. I have been to Japan more than once and it’s hard to replicate it stateside. Hayashi does that well by flying In fish from Japan to our plate in Wake forest! The toro is great it’s my favorite to order, you can really taste the quality. Each broth has that umami flavor including the Agadashi and Miso. This place has something for everyone including non sushi people. The katsu pork is delicious with proper breading and a sauce that makes you want more with each bite. The atmosphere is great including the music! I’m always dancing with joy from my food or from the music playing . The staff is beyond helpful including explaining what certain dishes have and even work with people with allergies. They have fresh wasabi for those adventurous to try new things! I even tried nigiri that was called Suzuki and it’s not a car, but a delightful white fish from Japan. They have great lunch specials with portions and combos that leave you full. The owner takes great pride in his work and is often seen behind the sushi bar or walking the ta
